While this museum was interesting, we probably could’ve just booked a tour to the Acropolis. The lunch, shopping, and extraneous driving didn’t add much value to our day. The tour started in front of the ancient gates of the Acropolis, or the Propylaea, and the nearby Temple of Athena Nike. From here, we had an amazing view overlooking the city of Athens. After 30 minutes of free time, we made our way to a hotel restaurant for a very lackluster lunch.
The ship’s layout and the schedule of activities did a great job at dispersing the crowds. For something more exotic, the Eden Bar offers some of the most unique drinks at sea. The World Class Bar makes a comeback on Celebrity Beyond showcasing fresh ingredients and the finest spirits. As a beer lover, Don enjoys the Craft Social as well which is the perfect place to catch a game along with a brew. The Eden cast also performs a separate show in The Club, The Jazz Joint. This swinging speakeasy-themed performance is a fun time and the best of their four shows in our opinion.
With an arrival around noon, it also gave us the opportunity to sleep in a bit. During the drive, the tour guide described the history of the island and discussed her years of education and training to be a certified guide.
