They perform less like a Broadway musical troupe and more like kids in story time at Bible Class. The cast is consistently strong with loads of theater experience under their belts including some who have previously graced the Rochester Opera House stage. Closing out our September stage lineup is Dirty Deeds, The AC/DC Experience out of Boston, MA. This was my first visit to the Rochester Opera House where I was impressed with the unique design of the performing space and auditorium. (It first opened its doors in 1908.) It is a bit odd having the concession stand and bar within the auditorium, but it seems to work for them. The Sunday matinee audience seemed to sort out drink orders just fine and the smell of buttered popcorn simply added to a wonderfully entertaining experience.

It goes all out with a grand staging of the music, with explosive vocals, high energy dancing, and an engaging balance between the comedy and drama found in the gospel. “Superstar” was grand and larger than life with soaring music by Andrew Lloyd Webber. “Godspell” was lighter fare with simple storytelling mixed with ballads, quirky numbers, and semblances of rock filled tunes enrapturing the faithful. The Rochester Post is operated by the Public Information and Community Engagement Office for the City of Rochester, New Hampshire.
The show features a mix of live instruments with prerecorded tracks that fill the theater nicely. The set is super simple with portable scaffolding, moveable platforms and basic props and costumes. A show highlight is certainly Amanda Dane’s stunning rendition of “By My Side,” sung center stage while strumming an acoustic guitar.

Bradley is a perfect child-like imp as the enthusiastic Fester lights up the stage with an innocence that sparkles. Skoglund exudes pure fun as a 102-year-old, a bit wacky with a few sagging body parts. Pates, as the ever-lurching Lurch, is nicely expressionless with his occasional moans and groans. There’s also a full cast of Addams family ancestors who have awakened from the dead and can’t go back to their graves until the romance dilemma is resolved. The flight was again delayed for more then 2 hours with some lousy explanation regarding the reason of the delay. Although the flight was delayed for more than 2 hours, no refreshments were offered (according to EU regulations). Last 4 flights on KLM - always at least 2 hrs late. So be prepared that you cannot plan anything with KLM. Every ticket includes two suitcases, and one piece of hand luggage, so you won’t get stung by those airline luggage fees or try and cram your bag into an oddly-shaped container.

None of these people were reprimanded but the steward, some bald guy, was extremely friendly with them and did not even try to instruct them to do anything until it was time to land. I resisted the urge to really argue with them because I would have obviously been seen as the aggressor (I have no idea why). I hardly said anything on this flight except "more wine please" and "sorry" if I bumped into someone accidentally. Overall, it was an annoying flight and I had to resist the urge to yell at the steward and the people he was overly friendly with. The happiest moment of this flight was leaving it.

It took about half an hour to locate a staff member to open up the locked room where it was being kept. We were disappointed when we had to check our carry on due to the plane being full. KLM hadn’t notified us and we had valuable items in the carry on but they still made us check it.
We left Pittsburgh at 630am and did not arrive in Mexico until late dinner time. The plane was old and you are required to connect your own device to their Wi-Fi rather than have entertainment options in the back of the seat in front of you. The Wi-Fi went out during the flight and there was only one plug for the devices every two seats. Three out of five surrounding my family did not work. The seats and spaces under them were so small I could not fit my backpack, which I’ve always brought on flights and fit before no problem. The crew were unpleasant and patronizing.
